DESCRIPTION: The Psychiatric Ratings using Intermediate Stratified Markers (PRISM) project has received funding from the Innovative Medicines Initiative 2 Joint Undertaking. This Joint Undertaking receives support from the research and innovation of the of the European Union and EFPIA program Horizon 2020. The project began in 2017 under the coordination of Dr. Celso Arango in Spain.

PRISM has brought together researchers from European academic institutions and large pharmaceutical companies, it was launched to discover the biological causes behind social isolation. Social isolation is one of the first indicators of the emergence of various common psychiatric and neurological diseases, but it is a symptom that may be caused by very different neurobiological processes. People who suffer from social isolation tend to withdraw from friends, family and social networks in their workplaces. No one knows the underlying real causes.
