Attending Psychiatrist and Adjunt Professor
Itziar Leal Leturia has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Alcalá de Henares, is a Specialist in Psychiatry from the Neurotraumatology Hospital of Jaén, and a Doctor of Psychiatry from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She is also a Psychotherapist accredited by the Spanish Federation of Association of Psychotherapists.
She develops her professional activity as an Area Specialist in Psychiatry at the Hospital Universitario de La Princesa and as an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Likewise, she is the tutor of the Psychiatry residents of this same hospital and Vice President of the Association for the Systemic Study of the Family and Other Human Systems (AESFASHU).
Dr. Leal combines her care and teaching activities with an extensive career in research. She is part of the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Research and Teaching in Mental Health (www.ccomsuam.org) and of group 33 of the Health Research Institute of the Hospital Universitario de La Princesa. She has contributed to more than a dozen research projects, 13 scientific articles, and 10 book chapters.
